Editor’s note

Reviewers praised May for being meticulous and consistent, and several said she is their regular manicurist, while Xuan was described as detail oriented and professional and Lavender as gentle and detailed. Recent reviewers also liked the clean, relaxing salon and good colour choice and noted that attentive, patient staff took care to get the shade and finish right.

Several reviewers, however, felt strongly about aggressive upselling and hard selling, and some were unhappy with how extra charges for top-ups and treatments were presented. Others found that lash extensions and gel polish did not hold up as well as they hoped, and one reviewer raised concerns about roughness during a manicure.

Reviews are split, with some visitors describing no pressure at all and others finding the sales approach the main drawback of their visit.

“Hard sell. They cannot take no for answer. Even if you say no 2x. From the first session of the package, hard sell me until the last. EACH session. So hard to drag myself to go finish the package. They are not very good too, my mani chip off easier than the mani i did outside. And they are VERY rough. Then they will tell you all kinda problem with your toes, nails, fingers, feet. Everything. To upsell you. Very expensive package. Tiring and not relaxing. Just dreadful session each time. Do not go.”

“Extremely disappointing experience - aggressive upselling and completely unclear pricing. What started as straightforward manicure and pedicure turned into a constant attempt to pressure me into paying for additional treatments I wanted. First, during the manicure, the manicurist insisted that I have fungus developing in one of my thumbnail. I told her I do not have fungus and she insisted it was “developing” and I needed the treatment. My nils were clean without any signs of fungus developing. She quotes $128 but did not specify it was a separate charge. She made it sound like it was $128, all inclusive of manicure and pedicure. Just for one drop of treatment liquid in to one thumb nail, I was charge $128, in addition to the $109 manicure & pedicure charge. At the same time the pedicurist was up selling a spa treatment to me because my heels were very dry. She said it was $198, again misleading me in to thinking this fee is inclusive of Basic nail charges. I relented and told them to stop with their upselling of more services. Then came the shocking moment - she applied moisturizing liquid to my heels and then proceeded to tell me the $198 charge is in addition to the basic nail charges. Hence, thinking it’s $198, all inclusive has turned into $444. I was totally livid. The whole experience felt like a deliberate and scamming sale tactic - continually identifying supposed problems, pushing treatments and. It making the additional costs clear upfront. I would strongly caution anyone going to this nail salon. The issue isn’t simply the money but the lack of transparency, the repeated pressure, and the way the pricing kept changing from their frequent upselling of different of additional treatments. They only communicated additional costs were additional and not all inclusive only after they have stared the treatments. Clearly a very dirty business tactic.”

“Bought a package for lash extensions, lashes started to drop after the 2nd time. Asked the shop if I could convert the remaining sessions to use other services. The answer I got was that I had to top up additional $350 (minimally) for their nail services. Didn’t understand the logic about this so now I’m stuck with these lash extensions. Also, you can only book sessions by calling them, no texting or system booking like other salons. Very disappointed”
