“The first chair I was sat in didn’t have massager working, then when I asked they changed the chair. I mean shouldn’t you just give me a proper working chair? Then they asked me if I had done gel mani pedi at pixie? I said yes I’m a member and I did at plaza, one of the girls said lucky plaza? Seriously? I am a member and every time I top up my package. They kept denying it and cross checking if I had done at pixie. I was borderline pissed as they thought in lying. Then she came back and said oh it was wrong member card! I let it go. Pedicure was okay, manicure she didn’t even put cuticle oil when I left and I realized later. Also I hate that every single time they expect customers to top up with more money. Do they think money grows on trees? When you have $1000 approx in your package why would you expect me to top up? Not just that my home branch was at harbourfront now I have to go all the way to other ones just to find out the service is so bad and they keep hard selling random stuff. They really need to improve their service at this branch, and STOP hard selling. Customers will come when they are happy anyway. Plus when I say NO one time for package just stop talking, especially when I said I’m not in the mood. People come to relax not to be pushed to buy.”

“They quoted 69 for lash perm, it’s also shown on their pricing board but at the end they quoted 75 for me to pay because of gst. They did not even state it on their board too. It’s not honest of them to do so. I just paid and left. The quality of perm is much lower than salons around. I won’t come back again.”

“I am extremely disappointed with the service and professionalism at this salon. I had an appointment at 11:45am for gelish removal, as one of my nails had broken quite deeply and was causing discomfort. Upon arrival, the counter staff, Jane, was curt and dismissive, telling me to “go sit there” without any basic courtesy. Despite there being two staff attending to just one customer, I was still asked to wait. I had clearly informed them that I needed to leave by 12:15pm, so I was hoping the appointment timing would be respected. A staff member, Cris, eventually attended to me, but instead of proceeding, she spent approximately 15 minutes trying to locate my records. During this time, her attitude was noticeably unwelcoming, and there was no clear communication or reassurance. After this delay, I was then told that there was no longer enough time to carry out the service—despite my prior appointment and the time already spent waiting. This reflects very poor time management and a lack of professionalism. An appointment should be honoured, and customers should not be made to feel like an inconvenience. I left without receiving any service. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves both service standards and staff training.”

“This is a follow-up review. My initial 5-star review was specifically for Christine’s warm, sincere, and consistently excellent service. She continues to provide great service, but she is understandably in high demand, and it is often difficult to secure appointments with her due to her popularity. This 1-star review is for the Holland Village outlet’s service standards and practices, not for Christine. I have been a returning customer and have re-signed packages multiple times. Unfortunately, the following three experiences were extremely negative and unacceptable, which led to this rating: 1) False Accusation and Lack of Due Diligence On one occasion, I used my package credit at the Causeway Point outlet instead of this Holland Village outlet. When I returned to Holland Village for my next visit, a staff member repeatedly insisted at least 10 times that I had gone to another nail salon and accused me of lying to avoid a complimentary soak-off. Despite me providing the exact date of the service and asking her to verify with their Causeway Point outlet, she refused to check and continued insisting the set was not done by their company. Only after internal clarification did they confirm that the service was indeed done by their own outlet. This experience was distressing and unprofessional. 2) Lack of Price Transparency (GST Not Disclosed) During a package re-signing, there was hard selling followed by a “special price” offer. However, it was not communicated that the quoted price excluded GST. I only realised this after my card was charged and the amount differed from what was verbally stated. I am fine with paying GST, but pricing should be clearly and transparently communicated upfront. 3) Questionable Appointment Handling Near Pre-Festive Period On 5 Feb, I called to make an appointment and was told there was availability on the night of 6 Feb. When I followed up to ask whether my package credits could be used, understanding that the pre-Chinese New Year exclusion period starts on 7 Feb, the staff immediately said the 6 Feb slot was no longer available and suggested booking during the week of 9 Feb instead, stating it would be separately charged due to Chinese New Year. Given the timing, this gave the impression that appointments were being managed to prioritise paid services over package usage, which felt unfair and eroded trust. The person who picked up the phone call was rude as well. Overall, these experiences reflect poor service standards, lack of transparency, and inadequate internal communication at this outlet. As a long-term customer, this was disappointing and has significantly affected my trust.”

“Came to maCo Nail Spa after a recommendation and honestly, it didn’t disappoint. The place feels well cared for, clean, and comfortable without being over the top. You can tell they really focus on service quality and customer experience. Hannah did my nails and she was amazing. Very patient, careful, and consistent from start to finish. She checked in with me, paid attention to small details, and made sure everything looked right before finishing. I felt relaxed the whole time and loved the final result. Definitely a place I’d return to and recommend if you’re looking for a nail salon that actually delivers, not just looks good.”
