“Chose the wrong day to come. It’s their 23rd anniversary, so the front desk was crowded with staff chatting away from my consultation to almost the end of my session. I was unfortunately placed in the room nearest to the front desk and you can imagine the sound proofing is not made for an eventful day like this. So how can you expect me to relax and enjoy the session listening to full blown conversations, quite loudly too essentially throughout my 2 hour session. It’s my first time here, the consultant Yenne (according to my beautician) served me. It’s unfortunate, because I have spoken to her about my discomfort with massages and specially mentioned I do not want to be touched unnecessarily or massaged. Throughout the consultation, perhaps to build rapport, she constantly touches me on the arm or the shoulders, despite me raising about this concern while speaking to her. She bypasses this piece of information provided to her and continues to touch me, I moved away to the edge of the wall and she continues to touch me. So before the session has commenced, I am already irritated but I tried my best to be as friendly as I can be. I hope she can understand that not everyone enjoys being overly familiar, and she could have respected and listened to the client she is consulting and their boundaries, especially when this was communicated clearly to her. Her ignoring the fact has led to a miscommunication with the beautician who was assigned to me and made me uncomfortable. The beautician was fine, she tried her best to adjust but kept wiping the creams and what not on the towel on my chest area, I’m sure they can afford extra towels placed elsewhere. She also bothered to explain the steps she was doing and had a pleasant disposition, I forgot to ask for her name but in any case, her positive attitude is the only saving grace throughout this experience. So it’s not all bad. When I was done with the session, with the two chemical peels I was recommended to, I was immediately asked about signing a package by another consultant who didnt even bother introducing herself after a half ass apology about missing out on the request about not touching me on behalf of Yenne. My issue is that they didn’t even bother listening because they’re so keen on selling their services, which is understandable because they have KPIs, but understanding this doesn’t mean I can appreciate their lack of basic respect and courtesy. In any case, I told them I don’t sign packages and explained my reasons. While the lady I spoke to did not hard sell the package in tone, she continued to push her luck by asking me to sign a smaller package. I reminded her that I have already mentioned I do not do packages and this is my first time here, it would perhaps be wiser for me to wait for at least two weeks to see if the treatment had any side effects before making any further financial commitments. I was uncomfortable throughout my entire experience here. I just couldn’t wait to pay the $256 (2 peels @50% off + 1 eye treatment) trial price and get out of there. So I guess there’s no need to wait another two weeks to contact me, I won’t return. It’s a pity since the beautician was quite pleasant, but beyond that, nothing else is. It’s just a matter of personal preference and boundaries.”
