Editor’s note

Jolin was praised for being very detailed in her treatment, and Vivi was described as amazing for a nail extension removal alongside a pedicure. Another reviewer said Tingting saved a shaky start with attentive, friendly service and good recommendations. Recent reviewers also noted that Nini was very experienced and did an excellent job.

One reviewer had a poor experience, citing a manicurist who lacked the experience to handle the service and uneven results across both hands. A later update praised the manicure itself but was unhappy with a soak-off that left the nail bed uneven, showing that outcomes can vary by service.

“As a 4.9 star shop, it is an extremely disappointing experience. I came in specifically for an express gel manicure with removal and, before proceeding, I checked with the front desk whether there was a staff member available to perform the service. I was told that there was and was asked to wait about 5 minutes. When the manicurist came over, she told me that she did not know how to perform the removal. Another colleague then stepped in to do the removal, so I assumed that the manicurist was at least sufficiently experienced to handle the manicure itself. Unfortunately, that assumption was completely wrong. After the removal, I clearly requested for my nails to be trimmed shorter while maintaining an almond shape. My right hand was trimmed too short, making the requested shape difficult to achieve. Another colleague had to come over and reshape my right thumb. When it came to my left hand, the manicurist appeared hesitant to trim the nails and left them significantly longer than the right hand. She did not even compare the length between both hands before proceeding. At that point, there was a very obvious difference in length and shape. She eventually realised that I was unhappy and started asking other staff for assistance, but everyone else appeared to be occupied and nobody was available to properly take over. By then, approximately 20 to 30 minutes had already been spent just on trimming, shaping and buffing. I had reached the point where I simply asked her to make both hands the same length and move on. The lack of experience and attention to detail continued throughout the service. Even after the colour and top coat were applied, there was no proper final check to ensure that the gel had cured properly or that the nails were properly finished. What I find most unacceptable is that the shop knew there was a staffing issue, yet still proceeded with my appointment without properly considering whether the available staff member had the necessary experience to perform the service. This gave me the impression that securing the sale was prioritised over whether the customer would actually receive a satisfactory service. I understand that staffing can be challenging and that competition in the area is strong. However, that is not an excuse to accept a customer and proceed with a service when the available staff may not have the necessary skills to perform it properly. If there was no suitably experienced manicurist available, I would have much preferred to be told upfront and given the option to come back another time. Instead, I was left with an unsatisfactory manicure and now have to make another appointment elsewhere simply to correct and fix my nails. This was not just a case of a manicure that I did not like. It was a very poorly managed customer experience from the beginning, and the lack of proper judgement in assigning staff was extremely disappointing. I will not be returning, and I would strongly suggest that the management review their staffing and service standards before accepting customers for services that their available staff may not be sufficiently experienced to perform.”

“Had a bad start to my appointment, but all was saved due to the excellent service by Tingting. Would recommend her as your nail specialist. She had good recommendations, was very attentive, friendly and provided great service recovery.👍👍👍 Update to the review: Returned to the salon for a soak-off but would highly advise against it. Best to just wait for your nails to grow and then trim it off as they use a drill bit to remove the gel polish, resulting in a very uneven, brittle nail bed. Manicure service 👍, soak-off 🙅🏻‍♀️”
