Now I completely understand why it was recommended! 😆 The shop is incredibly clean, and all the staff are so kind and welcoming. My nail artist, Da Som Kim, was especially lovely throughout the whole process. She patiently helped me choose a colour that I’d never tried before, and I ended up absolutely loving it. Sharing some of my favourites made by Nail County Millenia Walk! ✨ I’ve been coming here for almost a year, and they’re always incredibly detailed—especially with my nail art. “Stumbled on this place because it was across the street from my hotel (Conrad Marina Bay). I wanted to get my gel-x nails removed before traveling home and my husband joined me to get a pedicure. They were able to accommodate us as walk-ins without appointments but that was the extent of the positives. I was informed that removal of gel-x extensions would cost $40 so I opted to get that and the classic manicure for $38, $78 total. My husband wanted the spa pedicure for $65. The nail artist (young woman with a name that started with Yeom) pulled out a drill to start removing my gel-x extensions which only need to be soaked off. I asked 3 times at the beginning and throughout whether this was necessary and could I just soak them off with acetone. Each time she told me no, that since my gel-x extensions are a full-tip that she needed to use the drill and that their salon does not do soak off for even basic gel manicures. Also, my entire manicure was done from a pedicure chair, it was so odd, I’m not sure if they just thought I needed to sit next to my husband or what but it was highly uncomfortable. Then, at one point the towel that was under my hands fell to the ground and she just picked it up and put it back under my hands instead of getting me a new towel. I should have walked away sooner at the sign of these red flags but I was desperate to get my nails off before my 17 hour flight home. What followed was the most excruciating 90 minutes of my life as she unevenly grinded off my gel-x nails as I complained multiple times about the pain. While she shaped my cuticles and nails nicely, she gave me the worst paint job, which bubbled and dried unevenly (probably due to the uneven grinding that preceded). Come to find out, they do offer soak off on their service menu but it was 1/5 of the cost of the $40 removal by drill so they butchered my nails simply to upcharge me. As for my husband, he seemed to get a decent pedicure but upon check out realized that they sold him on the “spa pedicure plus) so his service went from $68 to over $100. In all, we spent nearly $200 SGD for shoddy, sneaky upsold services. DO NOT go here if you’re a tourist, they will do their best to scam, or even potentially harm you, as my nails are now super brittle and thin. Since returning home, I’ve broken 2 nails because they’ve been ground down to flimsy nubs.”
